2020, London In her new paintings, Misha creates dreamlike narratives set within the backdrop of a desolate desert, a representation of the collective experience we feel in isolation today. Here, people from her imagination and history meet. Misha’s work is rich with references to art history, cinema and theatre, but also with details drawn from everyday life and popular culture. In this new series, the main feature is a sculpture titled Pinga, which Misha made last year. Originally a large pink steel structure, Pinga is depicted here as the main protagonist, having chance encounters with those wondering through the desert. Each painting provides a different view of the piece and a myriad of optical scenes to contemplate.
