Parade, new exhibition by Misha Milovanovich

Save the Date – Parade | Misha Milovanovich

Feb 26 – Mar 4, 2025 ✨

Inspired by the radical spirit of the 1917 Parade at Théâtre du Châtelet, Misha Milovanovich transforms the avant-garde spectacle into an immersive experience where the boundaries between artist and audience gently dissolve. Over the course of seven days, Milovanovich’s sculptures and installations, enriched by scent, performances and living soundscapes from her collaborators and friends, invite visitors into a space of active engagement—one where art is not merely observed but felt, enacted, and exchanged.

This exhibition unfolds in seven movements, each providing a unique sensory experience that incorporates music, fragrance, and interaction, guiding visitors into a realm of renewal, memory, and play. At its heart, Parade serves as a form of cultural medicine—a term coined by Kim Hastreiter—reflecting Milovanovich’s desire to counter the alienation of contemporary life by utilizing art as a vessel for collective healing, shared imagination, and transformation. More than just an exhibition, Parade is a gathering—a celebration of the communities she cherishes and the worlds they create together.

Echoing the irreverence of Picasso, Satie, and Cocteau, Parade invites a fluid understanding of meaning, embracing theatricality, absurdity, and play. It is an exhibition as performance, a choreography of ideas where art’s true function is not merely to be consumed but to be lived.
